Can we walk to the beach from Villa Princess Maria?

Absolutely. Kata Noi Beach is roughly five minutes on foot — a flat, easy walk through the Katamanda Estate grounds. Kata Noi is a sheltered crescent of fine white sand between granite headlands, far quieter than Patong or Karon. You'll find loungers, shade trees, and a couple of restaurants right on the sand. From November to April the water is calm and great for kids. No shuttle needed, no steep paths.

You're spoiled for choice within walking distance. Mom Tri's Kitchen (5–10 min walk uphill) is a cliffside restaurant with Thai and Eurasian fine dining and spectacular sunset views. Kata Rocks Clubhouse (10–15 min) serves Mediterranean cuisine by an infinity pool. The Boathouse on Kata Beach (10–15 min) has a beachfront terrace and a wine list awarded by Wine Spectator every year since 2006. FIRA Beach Club overlooks Kata Noi — Mediterranean plates, poolside drinks, and weekend DJs. The Sundeck rooftop bar and Katathani's Orora restaurant are also nearby.

Very much so. The villa is within Katamanda, a gated community with 24-hour security and one guarded entrance — no through traffic, very safe for children. The pool has a shallow area for little ones, and the team can arrange cots, high chairs, and kid-friendly meals. From November through April, Kata Noi Beach has gentle waves and soft sand — ideal for paddling and sandcastles. There's also a shared tennis court and gym on the estate grounds. Need a babysitter? The villa manager can organise one from trusted local carers.

When is the best time to visit Phuket?

The dry season runs from November to April — expect clear skies, warm days, and calm water for swimming and snorkelling. December through February is the busiest stretch, so early booking helps. The green season (May to October) brings lower rates and fewer visitors. Rain tends to arrive as a brief evening shower, not an all-day washout. Seas can be choppier on west-coast beaches during these months, but the island stays fully open. Plenty of returning guests specifically choose the green season for the peace and value.

How do we get from Phuket Airport to the villa?

The airport is about 45 minutes' drive south. A complimentary one-way transfer is included with every booking — your driver will be waiting at arrivals with a name board and cold water in the car. For the return trip, most guests use Grab or Bolt (ride-hailing apps widely used across Southeast Asia). A ride to the airport costs roughly 800–1,000 THB. Alternatively, the villa manager can book a private car for you.
